EXT. STREET - DAY
(JERRY)
The CAMERA FADES IN to a man walking down the street.
He is dressed in a lime green overcoat and walks with a
precarious limp.
He walks down the street passing by a bookstore, a sign
hanging on the door reads: "TODAY ONLY: Michael Birch"
Through the window, we see a man signing a stack of books.
People eagerly mill around him.
Jerry glares at him
CUT TO:
INT. AGENT'S OFFICE - FLASHBACK
(AGENT)
His Agents Office - Day Jerry's agent reads over his new
manuscript.
A look of displeasure plays upon his face.
AGENT
Jerry, Jerry, Jerry, this is the
third book in a, no fourth book, in
a row that's probably unmarketable.
You're not Stephen King, so don't
just plaster you name on some half-
assed crap-fest and expect me to
sell it for you. Call me when you
get your act together with a decent
manuscript.
CUT TO:
EXT. STREET DAY
He continues to walk down the street and walks into a
convenience store.

INT. CONVENIENCE STORE DAY
(CLERK, JERRY, OLD WOMAN)
He enters the store.
"12:51" by the Strokes plays in the background.
In the background one person flips through a magazine, another
fills a coffee, another shifts through coupons, and yet
another looks at expiration dates on the back of dairy
products.
Jerry walks up to the counter.
An old woman stands in front of him she pays with loose
quarters.
CLERK
That'll be 3.75.
She smiles and places a bulky purse on the counter.
She rifles through it.
OLD WOMAN
This should cover it.
She slides the quarters towards the clerk.
He scoops them up and turns to Jerry, dismissing the Old
woman.
She shrugs and then ambles out of the store Clerk: The usual?
JERRY
I'll take a "MATCH 6."
CLERK
Your numbers?
JERRY
3,15,14,19,21,13,5.
The clerk hands him his ticket.
CLERK
Good luck.
He exits the store.
CUT TO:
EXT. STREET DAY

Outside on the street he walks past a store window with a
red dress on display.

INT. APARTMENT - FLASHBACK
(JERRY, LINDA,)
Jerry and his girlfriend, Linda, who wears a red dress, are
in the midst of an argument.
LINDA
Dammit Jerry, what the hell is this?
She flashes a newspaper in his face.
The picture is of Jerry at a nightclub with another women.
JERRY
It's nothing; it's only for publicity.
You know giving the public what they
what.
LINDA
What public, you haven't made a decent
book in years. You didn't once think
of me did you?
JERRY
Come on it was one night, we're young,
you have to live life.
LINDA
You're thirty-four Jerry, you're not
living life you're playing it.
JERRY
I'll be staying at a hotel, call me
when you admit to being wrong.
She throws a copy of George Orwell's "1984" it hits near
his head.
CUT TO:
EXT. STREET DAY
(JERRY)
Jerry walks towards the bank and enters.
CUT TO:
INT. BANK DAY
(JERRY, ROBBER I, ROBBER II, TELLER)
Jerry walks up to a bank teller.
The lines beside him each have a person making a deposit or
withdraw.
A guard sits asleep in a chair, a lulled setting prompted by
1970's elevator music.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.
JERRY
I'd like to open an account.
The teller glances at the check and smiles in a condescending
way.
TELLER
We'll need your ID, sir.
He scribbles his name on the paper.
TELLER (CONT'D)
Have a nice day.
Jerry turns to leave but stops as a pair of robbers enters
the bank.
ROBBER I
Everyone on the floor.
Every one drops to the floor.
Robber II nudges Robber I.
ROBBER II
Except the tellers! You stand up
and put you hands up.
The sleeping guard suddenly jerks awake.
Instinctively he pulls out his gun and points.
At this corresponding moment, Jerry makes a dash for the
door.
A gun fires.
Jerry collapses.
FADE OUT:
INT. DARKENED ROOM DAY
(JERRY)
Jerry wakes in a darkened room.
He slowly stands up and exits.
CUT TO:
EXT. STREET DAY
(JERRY)
Outside the street is deserted.
Jerry looks around and runs into a man dressed head to toe
in s.w.a.t gear.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5.
"CERBERUS"
Hey you, stay right there.
Jerry stands still.
In the background a figure moves.
The guard focuses on it.
He aims his gun at the figure and fires.
The person tries to run but is shot.
"CERBERUS" (CONT'D)
Crazy bastard.
He turns towards Jerry.
"CERBERUS" (CONT'D)
You'd better head inside before this
becomes a "two- for-one deal".
The guard laughs then points towards a building with his
gun.
Jerry rushes over.
CUT TO:
INT. BLOC TWILIGHT
(JERRY, KATE, WATSON)
Jerry pushes on the door with considerable force.
He stumbles into a darkened hallway.
A low hum of voices mainly Kate, Green, and Watson, almost
inaudible, is heard.
Jerry inches his way through the hallway.
A beam of light suddenly shines from behind him.
"ARES"
Who are you?
Startled, Jerry jumps back against a table.
A crash is heard.
JERRY
Ah…I just…I had to get out of the
street.
"ARES"
Oh the guards… So, again who are
you?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.
JERRY
I… Ah… where am I?
"ARES"
Philadelphia. And you are?
JERRY
And the year?
"ARES"
That doesn't matter now… 2040, I
believe. I'm not going to shoot…
killing an idiot like you would be a
waste of a perfectly good bullet.
Now, who the hell are you!
JERRY
Jerry Wright.
"Ares" shines the light into his face and looks at him as
though the name seems vaguely familiar.
JERRY (CONT'D)
I'm a writer, The Sirius Star, The
Fantasy Perception, You may have
heard of them?
"Ares" looks at him and shrugs.
"ARES"
Can't say that I have, it's been so
long since I've read a book, let
alone seen one.
He motions with the flashlight.
"ARES" (CONT'D)
There are others downstairs.
He turns the flashlight off.
"ARES" (CONT'D)
Feel your way down.
Jerry starts down the stairs.
CUT TO:
INT. LBOC TWILIGHT
(DANTE, JERRY, KATE, MITCH, NICHOLAS)
He enters a dimly lit room, mold and mildew infested, with
four stonewalls and a leaking ceiling.
A large barrel of water stands to one side of the room, a
group of crude and rusting cots lines the other side of the
room.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7.
In the center, a small fireplace has been dug into the
Earth, the holes in the ceiling leading to impromptu chimneys.
A door stands at the right hand side of the room.
Throughout the room, several people go about their business.
Nicholas sips on a flask of what one would assume to be hard
liquor.
"Watson" and Kate sit at a table looking over a blueprint.
Dante sits at a makeshift transistor radio trying to get a
signal. Only static is heard.
Mitch cooks a scant dinner.
"Green" sprawls asleep across a couple cots.
"Ares" follows Jerry down the stairs into the room.
Mitch looks up from his dinner.
MITCH
Who ya got this time, "Ares"?
"ARES"
Nobody he's clean.
MITCH
You're sure he's not a spy for the
I.C, right.
"ARES"
Not the way this guy cowered when I
had the gun drawn on him.
MITCH
And his name?
"ARES"
Jerry Wright, he claims to be an
author, I can't confirm it, but I
can't deny it either.
Dante looks up from the radio.
DANTE
Jerry Wright wrote the Sirius Star a
magnificently subversive jab at the
world of celebrity. It became an
instant bestseller; it was his first
and best book.
JERRY
I get that a lot.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8.
DANTE
The guy you have here isn't him though
JERRY
And you know this how?
DANTE
According Michael Birch's biography
of Jerry Wright, he was killed in a
bank robbery nearly forty years ago.
"Ares" looks over to Jerry.
"ARES"
That true?
Jerry nervously surveys the crowd.
MITCH
His identity doesn't matter, for all
we care he's a John Doe, what matters
is that we have an extra hand around
here.
"Ares" motions to the fire.
"ARES"
Can you cook?
JERRY
I took one year of culinary school;
I dropped out to pursue writing.
"ARES"
Good, make yourself useful.
CUT TO:
INT. LBOC MORNING
(JERRY, KATE, MITCH, NICHOLAS)
Jerry awakes on the stone floor.
A dim light flickers.
MITCH
You awake?
JERRY
Yeah.
MITCH
Start boiling the water.
The next scene is of the LBOC sitting at the table.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9.
MITCH (CONT'D)
This isn't terrible, we've all had
worse He motions towards "Green".
"GREEN"
Food's food, it's not there for
enjoyment it's for survival.
Mitch: Another month on your cooking and I don't think any
of us would survive.
"Green" glares at him.
JERRY
You guys been here a while?
"WATSON"
Long enough to forget the taste of
chicken.
JERRY
And why are you hiding?
The LBOC look at one another, unsure what information should
be divulged.
They discuss among one another.
MITCH
So what do we tell him?
"GREEN"
We trust this guy, right?
The group wavers.
KATE
Do we have a choice?
Nicholas looks up.
NICHOLAS
There's always a choice, "Ares" had
the choice to shoot him in the hall.
"ARES"
My gut told me this guy's no threat.
Look at him. Besides, a gunshot
would call the Cerberuses.
Jerry interrupts their dialogue.
JERRY
A Cerberus?
The group turns as one and gazes at him.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10.
NICHOLAS
It's what we call the guards on the
street. It's also the name of the
three-headed guard dog of the kingdom
of Hades in Greek mythology.
JERRY
I know Greek mythology.
NICHOLAS
How much of the conversation have
you heard?
JERRY
Only the Cerberus part.
Nicholas turns back to the group.
NICHOLAS
He heard more.
KATE
Then we should tell him, he deserves
the right to be somewhat informed.
NICHOLAS
We all deserve that right, but for
the past-untold number of years we've
been left in the dark. Tell him of
the I.C and only that.
Mitch turns to Jerry.
MITCH
O.K here's the run down, a few decades
back "Bush" pushed forward the idea
of an International Congress, a
unification of international laws.
This idea was set up during his second
term as president. When his term
ended and Gregory Huthford took
office, he allowed much of his
presidential powers to be absorbed
by the I.C, or International Congress.
Gradually, the influence of America
shifted into the influence of the
I.C. As with any political powers
the I.C generated a considerable
amount of enemies who came to be
known as the Rouge "Nations".
Tensions arose between the I.C and
numerous rouge nations and escalated
into constant warfare. Although
fighting on a battlefront soon proved
to be in unfeasible since the Rouge
Nations were not determined by

geological reference but rather by a
series of cells located throughout
the Americas and Europe. This led
to the mass eradication of any one
or groups of persons thought to have
any connections to the Rouge Nations.
In retaliation, the Rouge Nations
devastated the I.C nations by
releasing the "Neptune Virus."
JERRY
And that would be.
MITCH
A virus that simulates a rapid process
of decay; it's primarily an airborne
virus and highly infectious I might
add. It's called the Neptune Virus
because the main chemical needed to
create the virus is found in the
Mediterranean Sea near what was
Greece.
They continue to eat.
CUT TO:
INT. LBOC NIGHT
(JERRY, MITCH)
A few people lay asleep on the cots.
Jerry sits at a table.
He digs in his pocket and pulls out the bank receipt.
He begins to write.
JERRY (V.O)
Of what hellish terrain have I entered
upon? Of what sickening cosmic joke
have I become entangled? Does light
stand eternal, veiled in a darkened
fog, or shall it dim into obscurity,
the idea of its ability to prevail
the naive hope of man.
Mitch sits down.
MITCH
Can't sleep, huh?
JERRY
Not at a time like this.
Mitch glances at his paper.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
12.
MITCH
Writing a new book?
JERRY
Just some personal notes.
MITCH
I see.
He leaves.
Jerry continues to write.
CUT TO:
INT. LBOC DAY
(JERRY, KATE, MITCH)
Mitch and Kate sit at the table.
They carry out a conversation that is inaudible to the
audience.
Jerry awakes on the stone floor and looks over.
MITCH
We can't trust the guy.
KATE
How can we not trust him?
MITCH
Look, I'm just saying. The guy's a
loose cannon, he's unpredictable,
and personally I don't know where
the hell he's coming from.
KATE
Mitch, he's coming from where we're
all coming from, he's scared.
MITCH
Believe what you like, I'm just being
cautious.
CUT TO:
INT. LBOC AFTERNOON
(DANTE, JERRY, MITCH, NICHOLAS)
Nicholas sits at a table.
Dante sits at the radio still attempting to get a signal.
A series of static is heard, he turns the knob again, and
this time a voice breaks through.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
13.
Just as suddenly it's gone.
Nicholas jumps up and turns to Dante.
NICHOLAS
You had a signal, why in the hell'd
you change it.
DANTE
I didn't, it just went out.
NICHOLAS
You couldn't keep the signal; just
the same, you couldn't keep Kate.
DANTE
That was years ago, why'd you insist
on bring crap like this up?
"Watson" looks up from his blueprints and interrupts.
"WATSON"
Calm down Nick. We're all doing our
best, so don't pull this.
Nicholas walks over to the blueprints.
NICHOLAS
Best? This is what you call your
best. They look like sewer plans.
"WATSON"
Those "sewer plans" will save you
ass soon.
Nicholas abruptly stops and turns to "Green".
NICHOLAS
Wake up you lazy bastard, make
yourself useful, and give me a
cigarette.'
'Green nervously reaches into his pocket and throws him the
cigarettes.
"GREEN"
Here take the whole damn pack.
Nicholas turns around and runs into Jerry.
NICHOLAS
Oh yeah I forgot, one more person to
put up with in this hellhole. Why
are we even letting you live, you
just take up more space and food.
He takes a puff of the cigarette.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
14.
He blows it into Jerry face.
NICHOLAS (CONT'D)
I would have wasted a bullet on you.
Mitch slams him against the wall.
MITCH
Look you son of a bitch don't think
for a minute we won't kick you out,
we'll let you be the Cerberus's
problem, because right now you don't
mean jack shit to any of us.
He lets go of him and walks away.
CUT TO:
FADE IN:
INT. CONGRESS DAY
(RED)
A man stands on the podium; he is Frederick Red, the chief
representative of the I.C.
RED
My fellow world citizens of the I.C,
the time of unity is now, now more
then ever the war against the "Rouge
Nations" is waging on and it only
with total citizen support that we
can achieve victory.
CUT TO:
INT. EXECUTION CHAMBER - TIMELESS
(RED)
The execution of Garen Hessler.
A man is strapped to an electric chair.
RED (V.O.)
Thanks to the war efforts and
contributions of you the citizens of
the world we have brought down
Political tyrant and founder of
numerous rebel cells: Garen Hessler.
The executioner throws the switch.
CUT TO:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
15.
INT. APARTMENT DAY
(RED)
Several dozen Cerberuses raid an apartment.
RED (V.O.)
But, it is with a grave heart that I
announce to you the ever-present
occupation of rebel cells throughout
our beloved world. Thanks to your
loyalties, we continue to bring cells
down. We must remember however,
that treason hides itself not simply
in dingy back alleys or forgotten
bars where rough natured men
congregate, but within men, women,
and even children. The poor and the
aristocratic alike can be the culprit
masking themselves behind ersatz
sincerity and scripted virtue. It
is your duty, no your obligation, to
keep a close vigilance upon your
fellow citizens.
His image fades away until the emblem of the I.C encompasses
the screen.
A patriotic tune plays.
CUT TO:
INT. LBOC NIGHT
(KATE, MITCH, NICHOLAS)
MITCH
We need to strike and we need to
strike now!
"GREEN"
Tomorrow... at dawn.
MITCH
We can't wait for tomorrow, because
there is no tomorrow. When dawn
breaks, it could very well break
upon our lifeless corpses. Every
thing is dead, "all radio is dead",
it seems all truth is dead, and the
future is probably dead. Only hope
lives on, and it is fading.
He pounds his fist against the wall. There is a gash in his
arm and an odd looking mark.
NICHOLAS
He's infected.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
16.
"GREEN"
How can you tell?
NICHOLAS
His arm… look he's infected… we need
to kill him now.
He turns towards Kate who holds a handgun.
NICHOLAS (CONT'D)
Shoot him!
KATE
I can't he's my husband.
NICHOLAS
I don't care. Shoot him.
He grabs the gun and fires.
Mitch collapses.
A few moments pass.
NICHOLAS (CONT'D)
Burn the body.
The next shot we see is of a burning corpse and the rest of
the people standing solemnly over it.
The screen slowly fades to black.
CUT TO:
INT. LBOC MORNING
(JERRY, KATE, WATSON)
Day breaks upon the crowd.
Each eats a minuscule breakfast.
Jerry observes the food that is in his bowl.
KATE
Are you always this reclusive?
JERRY
Well thirty some women will do that
to you. And what leads you to this
assumption?
KATE
Thirty-five? I read your biography.
JERRY
On a yearly basis, and that's a rough
estimate, and you?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
17.
KATE
One. With this life, you have to
settle for what you get.
JERRY
So you settled for Mitch?
KATE
I didn't "settle" for anyone. You're
the type of person who dumps someone
for minuscule flaws; I simply chose
to accept them.
JERRY
Good philosophy.
KATE
I don't see it as philosophy I see
it as common sense.
We cut to Jerry, "Green" and "Watson" sitting at the table.
"Watson" draws out a blueprint.
"WATSON"
This is a layout of the entire block.
Mitch knew the stations of the guards
and their shift changes, so whoever's
on watch will have to make note of
when the guards change shifts.
JERRY
Well there was a guard on Wellington
Avenue I don't know if that'll help.
They look at him having no idea of the street he named.
JERRY (CONT'D)
You know where the bookstore used to
be.
"WATSON"
Oh, "Street Three."
"GREEN"
All the streets have generic names,
as in Street One, Street Two, yadda
yadda yadda, so that surveillance
and control is easier.
"WATSON"
Could you surmise that there was
more then one guard on the block?
JERRY
Not that I could tell.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
18.
"WATSON'
How sure are you on that assessment?
JERRY
Almost positive, it's a safe bet.
"WATSON"
Good, so there is one guard stationed
per street, right?
JERRY
True. So, what do you suggest now?
"WATSON"
Why not send a scout? We need someone
who's familiar with the streets one
who could quite possibly travel in
cloak and dagger using the alleyways
and rooftops.
"GREEN"
You'd have a better chance playing
Russian roulette.
"WATSON"
We've been working on this for three
months now; we need someone to do
this.
"GREEN"
It's suicide!
"WATSON"
It's our only option.
"GREEN"
We have all we need here, why do we
need to risk it?
"WATSON"
Because all we have, food, water,
coffee, everything, it's not permanent
and at this rate we're dead in a
month maybe two if we cut down our
rations.
"GREEN"
So either way we're screwed.
"WATSON"
Precisely.
JERRY
He's saying that our death is
inevitable, and we can do nothing
but prolong it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
19.
JERRY (CONT'D)
Now at least we have a plan that
gives us control to do something
about it.
"GREEN"
Fine I'll go.
He turns to leave.
JERRY
"Green" don't do this now.
WATSON
The guards are still on their rounds.
We need to wait until they shift
watches.
"GREEN"
It has to be done.
He walks up the stairs.
"WATSON"
He won't make it past the door; he
just won't do it.
JERRY
You're probably right.
Jerry turns to leave as "Ares" walks down the stairs.
Kate begins to walk past.
"ARES"
Where's "Green" going?
"WATSON"
He said he was going out.
KATE
You did give him a gun?
"WATSON"
Well no.
KATE
Dammit why not?
"WATSON"
I didn't think he'd go.
She walks hurriedly over to a cabinet and draws out two guns.
KATE
Here, I'll be back in a minute.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
20.
She walks towards the stairs.
CUT TO:
INT. LBOC UPSTAIRS DAY
She continues across the room and out the door.
She exits.
CUT TO:
INT. LBOC DAY
(DANTE, JERRY, NICHOLAS, WATSON)
JERRY PACES BACK AND FORTH - JERRY TURNS TOWARDS NICHOLAS.
JERRY
What the hell were you thinking?
Nicholas smiles and laughs the question off in a condescending
manner.
NICHOLAS
I guess I wasn't.
JERRY
Well then you'd better straighten
this shit out.
NICHOLAS
I'm not going out there. You
shouldn't either.
JERRY
You drove Green out.
NICHOLAS
He drove himself out!
JERRY
What about Mitch?
NICHOLAS
He was infected.
JERRY
With what, the Neptune virus?
Nicholas glares at him and lights up.
JERRY (CONT'D)
You pulled the trigger.
NICHOLAS
I had to; he had the virus.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
21.
JERRY
He knew something, didn't he? You
were covering up, weren't you.
NICHOLAS
They offered protection.
Watson glances over.
WATSON
Who?
Nicholas glares at him.
WATSON (CONT'D)
Who Nicholas? Who the hell are you
talking about.
NICHOLAS
The International Congress.
Dante charges him against the wall.
DANTE
You son of a bitch. You sold us
out.
NICHOLAS
I had to.
JERRY
Why? A person is dead because of
you. And quite possibly two more.
NICHOLAS
A traitor is dead because of me.
Green and Kate left on their own
accord.
JERRY
You bastard.
NICHOLAS
And you're such a saint?
JERRY
I've made mistakes and I admit that.
But nothing like this.
NICHOLAS
You aren't from around here though,
are you? You don't know the hell
I've been through.
DANTE
I do.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
22.
He looses his grip on Nicholas.
DANTE (CONT'D)
How long have you been corresponding
with the I.C.
NICHOLAS
How long have we been here?
(beat)
Don't you understand there was never
any rebel movements. The only reason
we're still alive is because of them.
DANTE
What about the radio signals.
NICHOLAS
Empty static. This entire operation
is an empty hope. You're lucky they
let you stay alive.
DANTE
You're in the same boat as all of
us.
NICHOLAS
I highly doubt that.
He pulls out a card.
Dante snatches it away.
DANTE
You're an agent of the Congress?
NICHOLAS
I'm a loyalist.
DANTE
You're a traitor. And a cold blooded
murderer.
Nicholas laughs.
NICHOLAS
Am I now? Is it not the International
Congress that is power? I'm serving
my government. You're the
conspirators - the mutineers.
DANTE
Of an oppressive government.
He motions towards Jerry to grab a gun from the shelves.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
23.
DANTE (CONT'D)
How can you justify your actions?!
You can't! Now Jerry!
Jerry grabs the gun as Nicholas whips around drawing out a
gun.
NICHOLAS
Stop right there.
They both stand still - the guns draw.
NICHOLAS (CONT'D)
You won't shoot. You can't. You're
weak. Fire you coward. Fire!
A gunshot rings out.
Both Nicholas and Jerry drop their guns.
Nicholas wipes his shirt of blood - his own.
NICHOLAS (CONT'D)
You are weak.
He falls to his knees.
Behind him we see that Dante holds a gun.
DANTE
But I'm not.
Nicholas falls on his stomach.
Jerry looks at the body
Then he turns towards the door and heads out.
DANTE (CONT'D)
Where are you going?
JERRY
To find Green and Kate.
DANTE
But the virus...
JERRY
I doubt there ever was one - and if
there was then it's probably not
airborne anymore
WATSON
You can't be sure.
JERRY
I'll take my chances.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
24.
He heads out the door.
DANTE
Good luck.
JERRY
Thanks, I'll need it.
CUT TO:
EXT. STREET DAY
(JERRY)
Jerry burst out the door.
A shot is fired - striking a car near by him.
He ducks.
P.O.V. CERBERUS -- CONTINUOUS
(CERBERUS)
The guards concentration is absolute - he aims his rifle for
another shot.
He rest his rifle on his shoulder - and with his free hand
he pulls out a radio.
CERBERUS
We have a runner on the east sector.
He fires.
P.O.V. JERRY -- CONTINUOUS
(JERRY)
Jerry jumps back into an alleyway.
Around him - numerous guards gather in the main street.
The Cerberus's rush past the alley way.
He leans up against rusted and battered doorway to catch his
breath.
It suddenly jolts open and he's pulled inside.
CUT TO:
INT. LAB - TIMELESS
Inside he is met by a blinding and brilliant white light.
"GREEN" lays propped against a wall - Kate guards the door.
Jerry glances up at the ceiling - a broom handle is propped
between the wall and a security camera.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
25.
KATE
Jerry? It's all false.
She hands him a document.
JERRY
What's this.
KATE
It's the control. The entire time
they've been monitoring our progress
and interaction.
JERRY
So then it's worthless? All our
efforts have been meaningless?
KATE
I don't know.
They walk through the lab - various computers read off data
and other vital information.
JERRY
We have to tell the others...
They almost reach a hallway when without warning the door
burst down. The Cerberus have located them.
One of the Cerberus's pick up "GREEN" and throw him against
the wall.
"CERBERUS"
KLIEN - report now.
"GREEN"
I have nothing to tell.
"CERBERUS"
Agent, you are aware we are at liberty
to dispose of traitors?
"GREEN"
I am aware of no liberties. You're
experiments failed.
The Cerberus throws him into the wall.
"Green" Spits up blood.
He turns towards the general direction where Kate and Jerry
are.
"GREEN" (CONT'D)
Run!
The Cerberus shoots him.

Then bends over and reaches into "Greens" pocket.
He pulls out an "I.D:
Gavin Klien - second office of "International Congress."
He places it into "Green's" hand.
The group of Cerberus then follow after Kate and Jerry.
P.O.V. LAB - TIMELESS -- CONTINUOUS
Jerry and Kate duck behind a counter - a hail of bullets
shatter the vials and experiments on the counter.
Kate grabs a chemical vial and hurls it across the floor.
It stops the Cerberus from advancing any further.
Jerry moves slowly across the floor
Kate follows.
JERRY
I think I see an opening.
He makes an attempted dash.
And narrowly avoids a flying bullet.
He ducks back behind the counter.
JERRY (CONT'D)
Or not.
KATE
We're stuck.
JERRY
It looks that way.
He looks around.
Kate grabs the handle of the cabinet.
KATE
Here grab onto that handle and pull.
They begin to pull it across the room towards the door.
Finally they reach the door and rush out.
CUT TO:

They head outside.

KATE
We have it, we have what we need to
bring those bastards down.
They head downstairs.
And stop in their tracks - the entire place has been
ransacked. Everybody is missing.
JERRY
It's gone.
KATE
I can't...
The sit there for a moment - the static of the radio the
only sound in the room.
Suddenly a faint voice is heard from the radio.
VOICE (O.S.)
This is sector A - is anyone there?
I repeat, if anyone is there respond.
Kate picks up the receiver.
KATE
This is Kate Smith - I'm with the
"Last Beacon of Condor" Could we
have your location?
VOICE (O.S.)
Sector B: off of Street A. Please,

She drops the receiver then turns towards Jerry.
KATE
Let's go.
JERRY
Ready when you are.
They head off and out the door.
The radio continues the transmission...
