     AFTER CREDITS:

     EXT. CASEY'S HOUSE – MORNING

It's early Saturday morning. The sun is just now rising.
The main door opens and Casey steps out. He walks up his
driveway. He bends over and picks the paper up. He
     coughs on the paper.

He turns and begins to walk up the driveway, before
looking down at the paper. He stops, dead in his tracks.

We see blood on the paper. Casey feels his lips. There
are a few spots of blood on them.

INT. CASEY'S HOUSE – KITCHEN - MINUTES LATER

JANICE JENNINGS, Casey's mother, is at stove making
breakfast. She is whistling. We hear a door open and
close. Casey enters. He now have blood around his mouth.

				   CASEY
                    Um, mom?

				   JANICE
			     (without looking)
                    What honey?

				   CASEY
I sorta have a small problem.

				   JANICE
			     (without looking)
                    What's your problem?

Casey coughs and blood gets on the fridge.

				   JANICE
			     (without looking)
                    Remember to cover your mouth.

Casey rolls his eyes, and then passes out. He hits the
floor pretty hard. Janice looks over at him.

				   JANICE
                    Casey?

     He doesn't respond.

     INT. JOEL'S ROOM – A LITTLE LATER

Joel is lying on his bed, watching TV. The phone rings
     and he answers it.

				   JOEL
                    Hello?

(We now intercut between Will at in room and Joel.)

				   WILL
                    Is Joel there?

				   JOEL
                    You're speaking to him.

				   WILL
                    Hey, Joel. It's me, Will.

				   JOEL
                    Oh, hey.

				   WILL
Listen, I was wondering if you
could do me a really big favor.

				   JOEL
                    What's that?

				   WILL
Could you give me Rene David's
                    phone number?

				   JOEL
                    Rene's?

				   WILL
                    Yeah.

Joel gets up and leaves his room.

     INT. JOEL'S HOUSE – KITCHEN – SAME

Joel enters. He walks up to the counter. He opens a
really huge book that has phone numbers all over the
     pages.

				   JOEL
                    Give me a sec.

As he searches, Joel whistles "Whistle while Work." In
the background we hear a door open and then close.
MARGIE MAYBERRY, his mother, enters. She has a really
big smile on her face. Also a look of disbelief. She
goes over and sits down at the table.

				   JOEL
			   (without looking
			    at her)
Hey, mom. Long breakfast with Bill?

     She remains speechless.

				   JOEL
                    Here it is, 555-2580.

     (We intercut with Will again.)

     Will writes it down.

				   WILL
Thank you, Joel. Oh, you're coming
to the Chris thing tonight, right?

				   JOEL
                    Yep.

				   WILL
                    Okay. See you then.

     Will hangs up.

Joel turns to his mother, who still seems shocked.

				   JOEL
                    You okay, mom?

     She smiles and nods.

				   MARGIE
I'm just the happiest I can be
                    right now.

				   JOEL
                    Any special reason?

     Slight pause.

				   MARGIE
                    Joel...this morning at breakfast.
                    Bill proposed to me.

				   JOEL
                    What?! Really?!

     She nods.

				   JOEL
                    What did you say?

				   MARGIE
                    I said yes.

				   JOEL
                    Oh, that's great mom!

Joel leans in and hugs his mom.

INT. BRIAN'S HOUSE – COMPUTER ROOM – A LITTLE LATER

Brian is sitting at his computer. Next time is a plate
with pizza on it. While he eats and surfs the next, he
quietly sings to himself. After a second, the phone
     rings. He answers.

				   BRIAN
                    Hello?

(We intercut with Will in his room and Brian.)

				   WILL
                    Brian. It's me.

				   BRIAN
Who the is me? And how did you get
                    my number, me?

				   WILL
                    Hardy fuckin' har.

				   BRIAN
                    What do you want, Will?

				   WILL
Just checking to see if you're
                    going to the Chris thing.

				   BRIAN
Yeah, but do we really need a new
                    guy?

				   WILL
Haven't you heard the saying "the
                    more the merrier?"

				   BRIAN
                    Haven't you heard the saying
                    "seven's a crowd?"

     Will groans.

				   WILL
Trust me. Chris is a good idea.
                    He's like a glove that's too big.
Sure he doesn't seem right or fit
right away but later you forget
about all that and get use to him.

				   BRIAN
Fine. I'll go. When are you
                    leaving for it?

				   WILL
Later. First I have to do
                    something.

Will looks down at Rene's number.

				   BRIAN
                    Me too.

Brian looks down at Cathy's email address.

				   WILL
                    See ya'.

Will hangs up and begins to eye her number. He sighs.

INT. BRIAN'S HOUSE – COMPUTER ROOM – SAME

Just as Brian is leaving with his plate:

				   VOICE (O.S.)
                    You've got mail.

Brian turns back to the computer. He reads the name
     and then drops his plate.

				   BRIAN
                    Jesus Christ on acid.

The name on the computer is Cathy's.

     EXT. REICTHER'S HOUSE – BACKYARD – A LITTLE LATER

Brock and Reicther stand and watch William, Reicther's
father. William is holding a shotgun. He cocks it and
     fires.

				   WILLIAM
Boys...there is a fine art to
                    shooting and killing things. Most
people think nothing of it. They
just point and shoot. But there's
so much more to. Take that rabbit I
just shot. Most people would have
aimed for where it was...but I
aimed for where it was going to be.

Reicther and Brock stare at him.

				   VOICE (O.S.)
                    Reicther, telephone!

				   REICTHER
                    Coming!

Reicther heads off for the house. When he's gone,
William begins to look over his gun.

				   WILLIAM
Brock, why don't you go see where I
                    shot that rabbit at.

				   BROCK
I think I'm good right here.

     William cocks his gun.

				   BROCK
                    Right away, sir.

Brock runs off into the woods.

				   BROCK
			    (himself, while
                           running)
I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die.

     INT. DOCTOR'S OFFICE – A LITTLE LATER

Casey and Janice are sitting across from DR. FALCO. He
sits behind his desk, reading from a file.

				   FALCO
Well, after all the tests we ran it
                    turns that Casey...has a stomach
                    ulcer.

				   JANICE
                    A stomach ulcer?

				   FALCO
                    Yes.

				   JANICE
I thought you could only get that
                    when your older.

				   FALCO
Well, typical cases are found in
older people. But it can happen to
                    anyone.

				   CASEY
                    How did I get it?

				   FALCO
Well ulcers are usually caused by
                    great deals of stress.

				   CASEY
                             (excitable)
Stressed? I'm stressed? We came all
the way out here to find out that
I'm stressed? Fuck, doc. I could
have told you that, and saved you a
                    few bucks.

				   FALCO
                    See what I mean?

				   CASEY
                    Sorry.

				   JANICE
We how can I help son?

				   FALCO
                    Here.

Falco hands her a slip of paper.

				   JANICE
				(reading)
                    Dr. Sollett? What's this?

				   FALCO
It's the name of a good
                    psychiatrist.

				   JANICE
Wow, wow, wow. Back up. A shrink?

				   FALCO
                    Yes.

				   JANICE
How well that help my son?

				   FALCO
Well, Casey could relief his stress
by talking to her and she can
                    prescribe him some Prozac.

				   JANICE
                    Prozac?

				   CASEY
Yeah, it's this pill that –

				   JANICE
Quiet, honey. Grown ups are talking.

     Casey quiets up.

				   JANICE
Couldn't you use some painful laser
or give him some kind of
                    unnecessary surgery you could give
                    him?

				   FALCO
This method would probably be best
                    for Casey.

     INT. CAR – LATER

Janice drives, Casey sits in the passenger side.

				   JANICE
                    A goddamn shrink?

				   CASEY
                    He is a doctor mom.

				   JANICE
Still there's gotta be other ways.

				   CASEY
Well...what's so bad about seeing a
                    shrink anyway?

     Janice sighs.

				   JANICE
                    There's nothing really wrong with
it. I just don't want you to end up
                    going.

     INT. WILL'S ROOM - A LITTLE LATER

Will is sitting in his chair, staring at the phone. He
does this for a few seconds.

				   WILL
                    You bastard. You little bastard.

     Pause.

				   WILL
Your the damn devil if you ask me.

     Pause.

				   WILL
Why do you have to make this so...
difficult? Why can't I just pick
                    you up and call her?

     Pause.

				   WILL
                    Dirty motherfucker.

     INT. JOEL'S HOUSE - KITCHEN - SAME

Joel and Margie are sitting at the table.

				   MARGIE
There might be one drawback though.

				   JOEL
                    What is it?

				   MARGIE
We might have to move to Ohio.

				   JOEL
                    Move?

				   MARGIE
                    It's only a small chance.

				   JOEL
                    Small?

				   MARGIE
Yeah. If Bill can't find anywhere
to sit up his practice around here
we might have to move over there.

				   JOEL
If he's marrying you he should move
                    over here.

				   MARGIE
                    Joel, we haven't discussed any
plans or anything. Hell, we haven't
                    even set a date yet.

Joel doesn't know what to say. He just sits back in his
     chair, looking distressed.

INT. WILL'S ROOM - A FEW MINUTES LATER

Will still sits, watching the phone.

				   WILL
                    I'm going to do.

     Pause.

				   WILL
                    I can do this.

Long pause. He quickly grabs the phone and begins to
     dial.

				   VOICE (O.S.)
Will, honey. I'm using the phone.

				   WILL
                    Sorry, mom.

				   VOICE (O.S.)
You can use my cell phone.

				   WILL
                    Thanks.

Will hangs up. He runs out of the room.

INT. WILL'S HOUSE - KITCHEN - SECONDS LATER

WILL'S MOM sits at the kitchen table. Talking on the
phone. We runs and trips into the room. He gets up and
     grabs the phone. He leaves.

INT. WILL'S ROOM - SECONDS LATER

He enters and sits in the chair. He dials the number and
waits. He begins to breath deeply, like he's very
     stressed.

     INT. RENE'S HOUSE - KITCHEN - SAME

Carmella seems to be getting ready for something. The
     phone is ringing.

				   CARMELLA
                    I got it!

     She quickly grabs the phone.

				   CARMELLA
                    Hello?

(We intercut with Will and Rene's house.) Will begins to
     breathe heavily.

				   WILL
                    Hi, is Rene there?

				   CARMELLA
Yes. May I ask who's calling?

Will falls to his ground, struggling for air.

				   CARMELLA
                    Hello?

Will rolls over on his back trying to breathe before
     passing out.

     Carmella sighs and hangs up.

INT. BRIAN'S HOUSE – COMPUTER ROOM – LATER

Brian is at his computer, reading Cathy's email.

				   BRIAN
"and I want to know more about you.
                    Please write back...Cathy." Well
fuck me gently with a chainsaw, she
                    answered.

     Brian realizes something.

				   BRIAN
                    Shit! Whadda I do?

Brian tries to think before noticing the phone. He
     grabs it and dials.

INT. WILL'S ROOM – A FEW SECONDS LATER

Will is still passed out on the floor. His eyes slowly
     open.

				   WILL
                    Stupid panic attacks.

				   WILL'S MOM (O.S.)
                    Will! Telephone!

     Will slowly gets up.

				   WILL
                    Coming.

     He leaves the room.

INT. BRIAN'S HOUSE – COMPUTER ROOM – SAME

Brian is waiting for Will to respond.

				   WILL (O.S.)
                    Hello?

				   BRIAN
                    Will? That you?

(We intercut between them: Will is back in his room.)

				   WILL
                    Last time I checked.

				   BRIAN
                    I need your help.

				   WILL
                    All right. With what?

				   BRIAN
                    Cathy.

				   WILL
Oh don't worry buddy, there's other
                    fish in sea.

				   BRIAN
                    No, no. It's different. She
                    responded.

				   WILL
                    What the hell? Really?

				   BRIAN
                    Yeah.

				   WILL
                    Wow. So what's your problem?

				   BRIAN
I don't know if I should respond or
                    not.

				   WILL
Brian, I'd love to help you but
I've to find some Prozac before I
                    passed out.

				   BRIAN
                    Okay.

     Very brief pause.

				   BRIAN
                    Wait what?

     Will hangs up.

				   BRIAN
                    Shit.

     EXT. REICTHER'S HOUSE – BACKYARD – A LITTLE LATER

Reicther and Brock watch William as he tries to shoot an
     animal.

				   REICTHER
Dad, as much as I love watching you
kill living things, me and Brock
                    really have to get ready.

				   WILLIAM
Oh come on, son. There's plenty of
                    time.

William looks into the woods to see if anything else is
moving. He sees something and quickly aims and fires.

				   BROCK
                    You just killed a deer.

				   WILLIAM
                    Sure did.

				   REICTHER
My God. Your like that guy who shot
                    Bambi's mother.

     William smiles.

INT. WILL'S ROOM – ABOUT THE SAME

INT. BRIAN'S HOUSE – COMPUTER ROOM – SAME

Brian sits at the computer. He is reading over Cathy's
email again. Unsure of what to do.

     INT. CASEY'S ROOM – SAME

Casey enters his room. He walks over to his desk. While
he does this, he carefully looks over the number the
doctor has given him. He drops the number on the desk.

     INT. JOEL'S HOUSE – KITCHEN – SAME

Joel enters the room, carrying a bowl. In the corner of
the room, is Margie, who talks on the phone.

				   MARGIE
                    Well, he proposed this morning.
                    Yeah, it's great.

Joel drops his bowl into the sink. He has a look of "I
have a bad feeling about this" on his face.

     INT. WILL'S ROOM – SAME

He continues to stare, with the phone in his hand. He
then looks down at the phone, takes a deep breath, and
     slowly begins to dial.

He waits. (Note: During this whole conversation, we can
never hear who Will is talking to.)

				   WILL
                    Hello, is Rene there?
                            (pause)
                    Hello, Rene? It's me, Will.
                            (pause)
Oh, nothing much. Hey, I have a
                    question for you, Rene.

     Will pauses.

				   WILL
                    Are you busy this Saturday?
                            (pause)
                    Well, this Saturday, next Saturday,
                    any Saturday.
                            (pause)
Why yes, I am asking you out on a
                    date.

INT. BRIAN'S HOUSE – EARLY EVENING

Brian begins to type a reply email back.

				   BRIAN
                          (reading it while
                           typing)
                    "Dear Cathy."

Brian pauses to think about what to say.

				   BRIAN
                    "How are you?
                              (pause)
I am super. It is really, really,
                    really..."

     He thinks.

				   BRIAN
"Really nice to hear from you."

     He thinks.

				   BRIAN
"How are things with you? I hope
                    they are good."

				   DEBBIE (O.S.)
                    Brian, let's go.

				   BRIAN
"Well, I've got to go. Bye."

He hits sends. He gets up but realizes something
     horrible.

				   BRIAN
Oh hell! I forgot to sign it with
                    my name.

     				   DEBBIE (O.S.)
                    Brian!

     He slowly begins to leave.

				   BRIAN
                    Coming.

When he leaves he turns off the lights.

     EXT. REICTHER'S HOUSE – DRIVEWAY – SAME

Reicther and Brock are getting into JESSICA'S,
     Reicther's mother, truck.

				   JESSICA
                    Got everything, honey?

				   REICTHER
                    Yep.

Brock and Reicther get in, and close the door.
Before Jessica can get into the driver's side,
     William comes around.

				   JESSICA
I'll be right back dear, I just
have to drop the boys off.

				   WILLIAM
Okay. Oh, by the way honey. Before
where you step if you go in the
backyard in the next couple of
                    days.

William heads inside, while Jessica is left wondering.

     EXT. CHRIS'S HOUSE – NIGHT

Chris is sitting on the porch. Next to him is Will. The
two are talking. A CAR pulls into the driveway. Joel
     gets out.

				   CHRIS
Hey, glad you could make it.

The three of them say begin to talk very quietly.
     Before:

				   CHRIS
                    Well let's get inside.

The three motion for the door.

     INT. CHRIS'S HOUSE – BASEMENT – LATER

Will, Brian, Joel, Brock, Reicther, Casey, and Chris are
sitting around on the basement floor. They're all high
on sugar. Most of drinks in their hands. In the middle,
of the circle they have formed, lays a bag of chips and
     a pizza box.

				   CHRIS
So he goes over and hits on the on
him the head and says "I wanted
                    over easy."

Everyone begins to laugh like it's the funniest thing
     they've ever heard.

				   REICTHER
You know, I'm beginning to like
                    this British humor of yours.

				   CHRIS
And I'm beginning to like your
                    cold, brutal honesty.

				   WILL
                    Hell, you'd be the first.

     They laugh.

				   REICTHER
Ah, if you don't like go back to
                    Russia you commy.

Slight pause. Joel eats some chips, Brock takes a bite
of pizza, and Will takes a sip of his drink.

				   CHRIS
                    Hey, Will.

				   WILL
                    Yeah?

				   CHRIS
                    I was wondering.

				   WILL
                    What was you wondering?

				   CHRIS
When do I get to he an official
member of this little group? I
mean do I have to do something or
                    kill somebody?

				   BRIAN
Jesus, were not like the mafia or
                    anything.

     Everyone chuckles.

				   CHRIS
But really, how do I become a
                    member?

     Pause.

				   WILL
                    Okay.

				   CHRIS
                    Okay?

				   WILL
We will make you a member, here
                    tonight.

				   CHRIS
                    Really? It's that easy?

				   WILL
Why not? You're the first who wants
                    to be one of us.

     Everyone smiles.

				   CHRIS
How will you make me a member?

A big smile comes across Will's face.

INT. CHRIS'S HOUSE – BASEMENT – HALF AN HOUR LATER

Chris is now in the middle of the room. He sits in
a chair. On his head is wearing the top part of
Darth Vader's helmet. Will stands next to him. He
is wearing a cat in the hat, hat.

A few feet a away, we see the others. Reicther is
wearing an army helmet. Joel is wearing a sailor's hat.
Brock is wearing a top hat. And Brian is wearing a
     cowboy hat.

				   WILL
				(to Chris)
                    Ready?

				   CHRIS
                    I look like a horse's ass.

He looks over at the others.

				   CHRIS
And they look a modern version of
                    the Village People.

				   REICTHER
                    Hey! They had good songs.

				   JOEL
                    Yeah, YMCA was the bomb.

     Chris sighs.

				   WILL
                    Are you ready, Chris?

				   CHRIS
                    Sure. Why not?

				   WILL
                    Do you Christopher Jonathon Hughes
agree to be one of us? To not be
tempted by the evils of jocks or
                    cheerleaders or skateboard punks or
those guys who take drugs in
                    between classes?

				   CHRIS
                    I do.

				   WILL
Brian, will you bring over the
                    drink.

     Brian brings over a cup.

				   CHRIS
                    Thanks, Cowboy Curtis.

Brian gives him a look but then continues to move on.
     Will opens it.

				   WILL
Drink this coke and the ceremony
                    will be complete.

Chris takes a drink. He seems disgusted but swallows.

				   CHRIS
What the hell was in that?

				   WILL
Rum. It was a test and you passed.
Welcome the group, Chris. You might
notice the disgust women will have
in you now, but it's part of the
                    job.

     Everyone laughs.

				   WILL
Now will someone get this man a
                    real drink?

They cheer. Joel hands Chris a real drink they all head
over back to the food and begin to talk among
     themselves.

							SLOWLY FADE TO:

     INT. BASEMENT – HOURS LATER

Everyone is scattered on the floor, sleeping. They sleep
in a mess of empty food and cans. We notice that Will is
     nowhere to be found.

     OTHER SIDE -

On the other side of the basement, Will sits with his
back against the wall. He is eating a piece of cold
pizza. He seems deep in thought.

He looks forward and notices Chris's dog watching him
eat. The dog seem eager to get a piece. Will, feeling
sympathy, takes a small part of the piece and hands it
     to the dog.

The two begin to eat in complete silence.

                                                        FADE OUT.

("Bad Day" by R.E.M. plays over the credits.)
