Thanksgiving ’22 (writing) Challenge Is on!
For those new to the site, the One Week Challenge is a writing challenge wherein you write a ten or less page script on a theme within a week. The challenge is meant to hone your skills writing a short script under a tight deadline. It’s an opportunity to exchange writing tips and ideas with other screenwriters. Also, it’s a chance to both get and give feedback on short scripts.
So, check out this month’s theme! Scripts will be due November 18th at midnight est to SimplyScripts.com/OWC.

The Deets:
Write a properly formatted 10 page or less script on the theme provide.
It’s an anonymous challenge. Do not put your name on the script. Provide a pseudonym on the title page as well as “copyright (c) 2022”.
Each writer will be assigned between 5 to 10 scripts they must read (at a minimum) and vote on for “Writers’ Choice”. Writers are encouraged to read more and vote on more. Giving feedback to other writers on the discussion board is highly encouraged!
Schedule:
10/21/22 – midnight edt – scripts due
10/22/22 – midnight scripts posted for reading and reviewing
10/29/22 – Writers’ Choices ballots due.
10/29/22 – guess who wrote what.
10/30/22 – midnight Who Wrote What and Writers’ Choice announced

The Challenge: Write a 3-6 page properly formatted screenplay depicting some sort of global (or natural) disaster. Open genre. Here’s the catch… This story must be told from a found footage perspective.
Seven writers took the challenge. (note: the writer names are pseudonyms and will be revealed at the end of the week. If you need to contact the writer, please let me know in the comments).

This isn’t a contest. It’s a challenge. There are no official prizes.
You can revise your script as many times as you wish up until the deadline.
Do not put your real name(s) on your script; this is an anonymous challenge. However, please use your real name(s) when submitting your script.
After the challenge closes you can either have your script removed or resubmit your script with your name on it.
Participants must read and comment/review in the discussion board at least 10 other scripts submitted or your work will be removed (no harm, no foul. I understand that life gets in the way.
Please put (c)2022 on your title page.
Any questions about the challenge, post them on the discussion board.
There will be a review page emailed to you for you to score the scripts you read. Please only give scores to scripts that you have read.
Please do not rate scripts in your review.
