Discussion board is still wacked - post author Don

Saturday Night Update.

I’m having a time bringing back the forum. All is not lost. If you need a place to go and chat, I have a Temporary Forum set up.

Don

Hi all,

I’m in the middle of a backup of the discussion board. It is going to take a while. In the mean time, you will get an error if you try to go to the discussion board. Apologies. The discussion board should be back up and running by Saturday, June 3 11:00 am edt. Maybe sooner.

Don

Update: I am in the process of rebuilding the discussion board. This will take a long time as I upload all the message files. New ETA Sunday noon-ish.

Malibu Stacy… with hat! - post author Don

Welcome to the ‘new-ish’ look. Same content only displayed differently. Thanks to ET, Dick-Nixon, Wesley, George, thedeadwalk2nite, dogglebe, Tomsom, Jaykur22, Alan, Bert, Stephen, Lon, Kevan, Abe and Judy “mighty hand in silken glove” Shan for the valuable input via the Discussion Board. There will be further changes over the next few days, weeks, months, years. I’m slow to make changes. Let me know what you think.

Important Announcement - post author Don

April 1, 2006 – Twenty-two new or revised scripts up on the Unproduced Scripts page. And this time, back by popular demand, I’ve included the “gang” name of the script writer so that Discussion Board members can know who really wrote the script.

Eight years ago I set up this site with the sole purpose of selling my action, adventure, sci fi, romance, western, film-noir, comedy, thriller – Space Stallion: The Dark Space Adventure of Sophie the Hybrid Horse Snake.

Over the years I’ve only gotten a couple of comments on my script. Those comments were, “Stinks” and “Crap”. I asked the reviewer if he/she could elaborate on his/her comment. The reply? “It really stinks like crap.”. I was not disheartened and over the years folks sent me links to other scripts on the ‘net. Other aspiring screenwriters asked if they could post their work on my site in the hopes of getting their work noticed. I was happy to oblige. I thought, perhaps, when potential producers saw SS:TDSAoStHHS next to other scripts, SS:TDSAoStHHS would really stand out. I’ve endured e-mails from writers telling me, “Thanks! I sold my script!” and “Hey, just wanted to let you know that I got a screenwriting job! Thanks!” and “My script is being produced!” and “Jesus! What moron wrote SS:TDSAoStHHS?”

You’d think I’d be happy helping someone else succeed. I’m not. I’m angry, bitter and jealous. I hope you all get hives in your nether regions. To the incredibly large number of aspiring screenwriters writing me complaining that no one read their script or reviewed their script or bought their script, I’d like to say, “Join the club! (and I hope you get hives, too).

I’ve removed my script from SimplyScripts.com and, starting tomorrow, I will be redirecting every single link, every single file on SimplyScripts.com to my new site, Simply-for-the-love-of-all-that-is-holy-buy-my-Space-Stallion:- The-Dark-Space-Adventure-of-Sophie-the-Hybrid-Horse-Snake- Script.com.
