Thanks Tom for the heads up on six teleplays from Season 30 (season 4 of the ‘new’ series) of Dr. Who. These come from the promotional site The Writer’s Tale by Russell T Davies (showrunner for the first four new seasons of Dr. Who) and Benjamin Cook. The book explores Russell’s work on Series Four, revealing how he plans the series and works with the show’s writers, where he gets his ideas for plot, character and scenes and how actors are cast and other creative decisions are made. The book is available from Amazon.com.
Check them out over on the TV Scripts and Transcripts page.
Edit: Thanks Peter for the clarification. This is Season 4 of the new series. Counted from the beginning of the original series, it would be Season 30. However, it is the 11th Doctor (canonical). – Don
Edit again: David Tennant, again as corrected by Peter, plays the 10th Doctor.

It is season 4 of the new series, but if you count from the beginning of the show, it’s season 30. The original series ended its 26th season in 1989.

I feel like the geek in front of the class correcting the teacher, but David Tennant is the 10th Doctor. 😉

To be ontopic though; if you’re interested in scripts (and why wouldn’t you be), read that book. It’s brilliant. Some of the scripts on the website are actually developed in the book. Russel T Davies corresponds with Benjamin Cook and sends pieces of scripts, which later change, and again. And all this with context: RTD indicates why he changes things, why scenes had to be cut, etcetera.
And make sure to read the script for Midnight: it’s a brilliant script and even more so from the pure textual point of view.

although David is the 10th TV doctor, there have been a few films. . . . even Peter Cushing has been a doctor once!!
