Help a fellow SimplyScripter out – Watch “The Seamstress” - post author Don

Hey Folks. “The Seamstress” is a short horror film Sham wrote with filmmaker Tyler Mann for Horror Block Film Fest 2015.

How can you help? Watch the film online, and if you think the film deserves it, give it a thumbs up on YouTube to cast your vote.

Not bad. Is there a link we can click on to vote?

I thought it was decent. The acting was good. It’s hard to get a dog to do what you want them to do. The surprise at the end was cool. I didn’t know what to expect.

The only complaint is that you kinda took all the suspense out by making the cut far too long, and the house was too well lit. I applaud the use of the falling water glass and it looked like the dummy was moving at the end.

One question, why is it called Seamstress instead of Mannequin?

Hi Dan!

Thank you for watching. My original script was called The Mannequin. It became The Seamstress as it began production. The new title is sort of a misdirection meant to describe the woman in the story and, by the end of the film, the mannequin as well.

I can see what you’re saying about the suspense, the length of the film, and the lighting. I am proud of the fact that we were one of the only films within the competition that took place entirely in the daytime. That’s pretty uncommon for this genre. Also, the film might be overlong, but it can be attributed to the fact that the core suspense moment was shot in one continuous take.

Thanks again for watching.
