Darabont draft of Indy 4 - post author Don

While waiting for servers to update and files to download and upload (get deleted and reuploaded), I spent a lot of time dorking around the internet. In doing so, I came across WikiLeaks, a site that posts leaked documents. Between “Scientology cult FEBC staff training tapes” and “Protokoll Regierungsrat Zurich Missbrauch Steuervereinbarungen durch Offshore-Vehikel” I found the ‘purported’ Darabont draft of the latest Indian Jones movie. In many places it bears a strong similarity to the final film. On WikiLeaks, it is noted, “It also shows how Lucas blatantly ripped entire sequences from a much better film…” I beg to disagree as the credits on this draft show it was written by Frank Darbont [based on a] story by George Lucas. It is Lucas’ story and he can use it anyway he wishes. There has been great debate on the Discussion Board about the movie. There are those who loved it. There are those who hated it. I thought it was the best Indy movie, yet. – Don

Indiana Jones and the City of the Gods – November 4, 2003 draft script by Frank Darabont (story by George Lucas) – hosted by: wikileaks.org – in pdf format

Famed archaeologist/adventurer Dr. Henry “Indiana” Jones is called back into action when he becomes entangled in a Soviet plot to uncover the secret behind a mysterious artifact.

ScriptGirl script sales report for week ending June 13th and June 20th - post author Don

The ScriptGirl report for the week ending June 13th.

Raindrops all around me wherein a smart guy acts dumb to fit in, comic book adaptations, a woman on the run from a religious sect, and time travelling.

Remember, as ScriptGirl sez, “you can’t sell it, if you don’t write it”.

Hello? Anyone still here? tap, tap, tap… - post author Don

The server move is complete. Email is iffy. Thanks for your patience.

Script Girl script sales update for June 6th (or Chicago IT Slub Sells Spec For Mid Five Figures). Congrats Mike! - post author Don

The ScriptGirl report for the week ending June 6th, 2008.

Merlin’s quest to fight an ancient evil with a band of nerdy scientists, washed up athletes and movie stars. Lion’s Gate video game adaptation, Harvard Zombie Massacre, Final Orbit (based on a comic book) vacation nightmare (hate when that happens), Finally, with a little help for a certain dorky website, Mike Shelton’s The Swinging Sounds of Jack Amsterdam sold.

Remember, as ScriptGirl sez, “you can’t sell it, if you don’t write it”.

A word about the site. We are in the process of a server move. Please be patient. Hope to have the site moved over by the end of the week. In addition, I’ve shut down the discussion board until I can get all the server error issues resolved. – Don

Serenity script – compare and contrast - post author Don

Thanks to David for the heads up a couple of versions of Serenity. From PDFscreenplays we have a pre April 18, 2004 “kitchen sink” draft. Word is that Joss Whedon threw in everything in this draft which clocks in at 190 pages! As a general rule of thumb (very general) you get one minute of screentime per page. This would have been a three hour movie. From Sci Fi Scripts you can read a later draft dated April 18, 2004 which clocks in at a more reasonable 120 pages. What got left in? What got taken out? Head over to the Movie Scripts page and compare and contrast. – Don
